Sophie Oliver

Sophie Oliver is regarded as one of the most exciting DJs to emerge on the London scene in recent years. In a significant era for electronic dance music, where a growing number of producers have broken through and crossed over to the DJ circuit, Sophie has made a name for herself by simply rocking every club she has played at.

Her style is Electro fused with Minimal Techno, and her sets are laced with melodic bass lines, tenacious tones and dirty electronic breakdowns.

Sophie’s career spans the better part of the last decade, building invaluable experience back in 97 playing regularly for Serious at The Cross and Hanover Grand with the likes of Norman Jay, John Kelly and Anne Savage.

These days she is more at home playing clubs like Retox, where she has become a firm favorite and now resides as a resident. Her natural energy and charisma comes across in her interaction with the crowd whenever she plays.

She has built her reputation over the past year holding her own alongside established artists like

Kraftwerks Wolfgang Flur, Arthur Baker, Rocky (Xpress2), Mr C, Rob Mello, Switch, Colin Dale, and many of the new stars such as Williamz (Get Physical), Sian (Pokerflat), and Audiofly.

With her DJ profile on the rise, Sophie is keen to make the next step into production. The well respected SAE Electronic Music course, that she is currently studying in London, should hone her innate technical understanding and crisp mixing abilities.

Sophie's production style will be deep and penetrating electronic house taking inspiration from the likes of Stephan Bodzin, Matthias Tanzamann, Marc Romboy, Gabriel Annanda, Gui Boratto and labels like Rekorder, Traum, Trapez, Kickboxer and Pokerflat. With her first release on her Kilometer Recordings label due in June, Sophie has much to look forward to in 2007, as do her growing army of fans.
