Crystal Distortion
Original Spiral Tribe 23 crew.......Crystal Distortion's sets are World renown.
Beginning his career at age 17, sonic innovator Crystal Distortion has remained one of the most influential true surveyors of underground sounds and has seen continuous success delivering his kick-ass, genre busting, jaw dropingly unique brand of techno and breakbeat. The diversity and unpredictability of his live performances have secured him a never ending round the world trip via some of the biggest festivals this planet has ever seen, on the strength of word of mouth alone.
Crystal Distortion’s free form improvised style breaks with convention and pulls us to other side of normality. He moves in psycho-active spirals of techno and break beat and his puzzle that draws from a wide variety of influences creates a surrealistic and luxuriant landscape. Due to the fact he has never strayed from the original rave concept his music has still kept in tune with the primal hypnotic pulse leading generation after generation to a state of well-being.
CRYSTAL DISTORTION ALIEN OR HUMAN?For you to judge check inner sleeve blurb about the genesis of this new album:
«The day that nobody thought would happen finally has: Our glorious yet somewhat fragile interstellar cruiser , INDI 23, has collapsed under our own excesses, and spiralled ungracefully towards a desert located upon a blue/green planet, one of an original number of nine orbiting the star SOL.
Fortunately our life support systems and extreme environment protection suspended animation capsules were still operational before the majority of our starship burned away upon entering the atmosphere, also proving there are breathable gases useable by us once upon its surface, so I wasted no time at all in getting the exit hatch open and taking a look outside to assess the damage. It didn't look good.
Knowing that this crate would never fly again, I took it upon myself to remove the suspended animation capsules containing the rest of my crew and buried them as deep down into the sand as the (fortunately still intact) digging drill 'Gearshifter 1' would let me go. A dilithium battery pack connected to the capsules should keep them operational for at least the next 1000 years; plenty of time to find a way to get off this rock and grab them on the way out. Information.
Data. That’s what i needed. the ship's computer lost the majority of its storage drives on the way down and could only provide me with immediate facts concerning my surroundings. It seems I am stuck on the outer edge of the 'milky way' galaxy, on the only life supporting planet around here for light years in every direction. They have yet to encounter other intelligent galactic residents yet use their media to fantasize about it quite a lot.
War, sex, and consumption seem to be the major pastimes here with most of the current entertainment revolving around a weird activity called 'sport'. Fortunately the dominant species, humans, are also bipedal, have two eyes, a nose, and a mouth, and require privacy for the purposes of procreation and waste disposal. rather like us.
Despair set in as I realized that my situation was Fucked!!!! I mean check out the name of this place!!! Earth. yeeeeeuk. sounds like something I left on the floor outside the bar after too many drinks!!!!!!
Unswayed in my determination I grabbed the bare minimum I needed to navigate my way through this mission: a portable computer, a bunch of controller surfaces, and a crude yet tasteful AV I/O device. These I rammed into a backpack and slung over my shoulder. The last remaining charge of my disintegrator ray was used to get rid of any evidence an alien craft had landed upon their planet. the crew buried under tons of sand and molten rock sleeping peacefully, oblivious to the catastrophe at hand. I vowed to return for them. one day…………
And so I set out, searching for civilization. The following audio transcripts are records pertaining to the state of the mission so far. Cunningly disguised as dance music, it remains possible for me to hide them in physical or digital media located upon this planet for retrieval when the time comes. Unfortunately, seeing the evolutionary state of this place, faster than light travel seems a long way off, and on planet earth in the early 21st century, one does not simply just walk into a spaceport, and hot-wire the nearest spaceworthy looking vehicle and bugger off with it!
